The final day of Empire' Big Screen event kicked off with a showcase from Paramount of their upcoming movies. Paramount was the first studio this year to cross the $2 billion revenue mark and with some of their upcoming titles it doesn't look like they have any intention of slowing down.
To start off we have trailer for Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol starring Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton (26th of December), Paranormal Activity 3 (21st of October) and Like Crazy starring Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones (3rd of February 2012).
We then moved swiftly on to some behind the scenes footage of Cowboys & Aliens with Jon Favreau describing Harrison Ford as the John Wayne of his generation and how a movie like this has never before been made.
After some shots of sets and people jumping out of the way of explosions we were shown a scene from the upcoming remake of Footloose directed by Craig Brewer and starring Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough and Dennis Quaid. We also get a first look at 'The Devil Inside' a new movie based on an exorcism which involved a possessed woman getting into some extremely unnatural positions.
Finally we got two short previews of Puss in Boots and The Adventures of Tintin.
Puss in boots got huge laughs from the audience and the film has humour aimed at both adult and children and looks to certainly be a film for all the family, Coming to screens all around the UK on December the 9th.
The Adventures of Tintin preview started with a short introduction from Peter Jackson and Steven Speilberg in which we were told the story of how Speilberg approached Jackson and asked him to run a test to see how motion capture would work with a fully cgi dog. For this test Jackson, who was filming King Kong at the time, had his wardrobe department come up with a Captain Haddock costume and he himself ran the test on the boat used in King Kong. This idea was quickly scrapped. The animation used in the film is excellent and this film will surely entertain both adults and kids.
